Printed on acid-free McCoy Royal Silk paper with archival inks. Gold-leaf limited edition print has 23-K gold-leaf hand applied by Elantu. Individually signed and numbered by Elantu. Print release date 2002.
This original knotwork design painting is based on the Irish tales of Cuchulainn who was known as the Hound of Ulster. Accord to some of the traditions, Cuchulainn had three enormous red hounds that were capable of smelling out evildoers. This knotwork celebrates this traditional tale. The spirals the hounds are jumping through represent the eternity of culture as carried by the people who tell stories down the generations. This drawing also includes the dots around the central knotwork design. This is the sixth mandala in the Celtic Mandala Series.
